a little snarky but on point. Titles aren't always indications of the real responsibilty that a position has.
The salary should fit the responsibility and expectations.
I often see 'new' people hired in a thigher salaries for the same responsibilty than those who have been at a company for long periods of time. Good companies make equity adjustments and reward for positional responsibilty.
If I were the OP I would ask for a raise.
Of course I've also seen these types of consoloidations as a 'test' folowed by a raise a year later...

Maybe I should have rethought giving up a QA Director job to step "down" to a QA Manager job with a different company for a lot more money and larger staff of degreed professionals.
I guess I'm not a real manager anymore.
