Re: Training needed when sizes added?
We currently make the product in sizes 1-8. We are adding sizes 9 & 10. It is my belief that it does not change their competance. We do need to communicate that the product now comes in 2 additional sizes. Does that communication need to be documented?
Well, I see that as an important change and a progressive one too. This change could perhaps effect many other processes, like the packaging, product informations, updations required within an ERP if you work under one, additions to any toolings or moulds, or other identification requirements, Finished goods storage requirements .... (think of any more)
When I identify many such, I begin to see the importance and hence need to document and train the suitable persons who manages all those important functions.
Training need not always be taken as a formal day sitting. Any small piece of information that is planned and delivered so as to create awareness, understanding, and ability to further plan one's tasks suitably and effectively with the new piece of information learnt could be a training.
And records of education, training, skills, and experience needs to be maintained......
