Is TS-16949 a 2 for 1 Deal?

When we registered for QS-9000 we got an extra note on the certificate for ISO 9000-1994 certified. Are TS-16949 and ISO 9000-2000 related enough to get certification at the same time?

I would suggest that since 16949 includes ISO 9001:2000 (16949 meets and exceeds ISO 9001) that the issue is moot.

That's my understanding, too. If you get TS-2002, then you'll get ISO9001:2000.

True - but that only applies to QS. There will no longer be an association with QS and ISO after Dec. 14, 2003.

16949 does in my understanding include ISO-9000:2000

Dave - correct.

ISO/TS16949:2002 contains all the requirements of ISO9001:2000, and obviously a whole lot more. So in order to comply with TS you must be complying with ISO9001.

But will the certification bodies charge you twice for two certificates ?
