Is TS 16949 Replacing QS-9000?

TS 16949, does it replace QS?

I,m confused. Is the Qs9000 being replaced by TS 16949 or is it a new Cert. I'm already ISO1994, QS9000 & TE. Do I really need another piece of paper?

Is the second edition of ISO/TS16949 still going to require the GM customer-Specific Requirements(4/99)

I would venture to say that none of the big three will abandon their specific requirements. Ford won't let go of its QOS and Q1 program. GM will not abandon their GM-9000 (aka Targets for Excellence) and Chrysler - well, Chrysler --- who knows...
