Our goal was for the end of 2002. We may or may not make it. It was slow-going at first but may pick up from here.

The first set of procedures for a Key Process is due out this Friday, along with all the accompanying forms and database structures that are necessary to support the procedures. We'll have a review period then hope to have all re-work done by end of this month.

I've also been working on a Support Process in the background and it should be ready to roll out fairly quickly too - I hope to have it operating by end of April.

What concerns me is the internal audit process. I haven't ever done an audit and not sure that I would do it correctly. I'm seriously considering hiring a consultant to come in and do the audit and I'll follow him/her around as training.

I voted twice. I am a consultant who has assisted clients with 9000:2000. Also, our consulting group upgraded from 94 to 2000 in October during our surveillance audit.

I'm curious. I've seen the new standard referred to as 9000:2000. The standard is 9001:2000. Is there an overriding document that I'm not aware of? Not being facetious, but, I see it a lot. I just assume that it's a mistake. Any help out there where I may be looking?:agree: :ko: :smokin:

Check around, many times local ASQ chapters and County Colleges have auditors that will audit for free or a very small fee in ordrer to get the experience and audits needed to qualify for RAB certification etc.

If I can help at all, let me know. I am not a provisional auditor, but have performed in excess of 75 audits.

Best of luck,

Carl

Thanks Carl! Never thought about the ASQ having someone.....

Hmmm how much will you pay! (I have my RAB Certification, how many audits have I done too many to keep track of). Just kidding actually Lucinda I have some information (Gap anaylysis, Audit Check lists etc..) I can send you on 9K2K if you would like.

Energy 9000:2000 is the QMS Fundemental and Vocabulary Replaced ISO 8402, 9001:2000 QMS Requirements, and 9004:2000 are the guidelines for performance improvements.

We are actually certified to 9001: 2000. I tend to use 9000 and 9001 interchangeably - too many numbers to keep track of. There is still an ISO 9000 - "Quality Management System - Fundamentals and Vocabulary".

9000:2000 vs 9001:2000

Energy - This is a simple one!
(comment refers to the question asked not the person it's directed to :vfunny: )

ISO 9000-2000 is the Quality Management Systems - Fundamentals and vocabulary

ISO 9001-2000 is the QMS - Requirements

It even states in the introduciton section of the 9001:2000 standard that "Management principles stated in ISO 9000 and ISO 9004 have been taken into consideration during the developement of this international standard."

The 9000-2000 is a 'Normative' reference to the standard (covered in standard again on page 1 #2).
