ISO_Guy,
I am an in-house testing facility actually. As a new initiative, we are attempting to have our own quality system established for the lab (17025). There is some dispute coming from the folks from our corporate quality system, but I keep assuring them the interrelation between the two QS's will be transparent so to speak.
Our lab is already accredited by UL's Client Test Data Program (CTDP) and by VDE's Test Data Acceptance Program (TDAP) to perform testing according to the standard for Electrically Operated Medical Equipment (UL 2601-1 / EN 60601) and EN 60601-2-38, the standard for Electrically Operated Hospital Beds. With these two accreditations, we already have established our equipment calibration process, and qualified our test technicians, although we may need more detail to be compliant with ISO 17025.
It looks like our corporate QS wants to be the sole controller of documentation, of which I am having a problem with. I want our lab to have control over its documentation process. Oh well, no one said it was going to be easy.
