In my experience, an auditor will not ask for a specific time period for training. People learn at different paces, and training will take as long as necessary for the person do be able to demonstrate competence. It is solely at management discretion as to whether the person will be able to become competent in what they arbitrarily consider to be a "reasonable" amount of time. If a trainee requires a longer training period to perform a task, and management is willing to continue to have that person trained, so be it. However, a trainee shouldn't be working unsupervised until competence has been demonstrated with the criteria being determined by management.
