ISO 14001 Clause 4.4.4c - Interaction of Main Elements: How to Demonstrate?

4.4.4c states "...description of the main elements of the environmental management system and their interaction, and reference to related documents..."

what are the "elements" referred to in that part of iso 14001: 2004? how can i demonstrate the interaction of those elements? any example which i can benchmark?

A flow chart showing the different elements and related procedures works great for this purpose.

Unfortunately, Romelnar, examples tend to be rather specific to one's organization so if we were to post some, they really would not be of much help to you.

However, you should a search in the Cove for other threads where you might find what you are looking for...such as:

An easy way to start, though, is a matrix. All the elements and sub elements along one axis and all your processes along another. Show how they relate to each other (e.g., D-Directly, S-Supporting, NA-not applicable).

Yeah, not only is the flow chart in our manual specific to our operation, it is somewhat proprietary and I have a basic apprehension with posting it on the internet.

It's a pretty simple (but effective) thing to create. Just keep thinking PDCA relative to the standard's different elements and how they flow and relate to one another.
