Can anyone help me we have 14001 (gained 2004)
Our oil storage area was outside in a contained building which we also use for the air compressor.
We are at present having a new compressor installed in same building which leaves no room for the continers of oil.
At present we are storing them in a company around the corner from us approx 600 meters away where we are hiring ground space for a press, they have no issues regarding this and as we have an Audit due soon how do we stand?

Is this arrangement temporary or permanent? I don’t see any issues as long as the oil is being stored in accordance with environmental guidelines. Sounds like more of an H&S issue to me.

Am I missing something?

Nor do I. You are simply outsourcing the storage of your oil. There is the transport from the other company to consider of course, and you are also making them your supplier (of oil storage). No big deal.

I agree no issues if you've met your suppiler approval standards and inlcuded the new aspect of transporting oil to and from the off site location (assuming they were not aspects before).

Thank you for your input I was thinking more in the lines of the storage company being our supplier of space do we need to make them aware of our environmental policy /issues.

Doesn't directly have diddly to do with 14K, this is just an arangement between 2 companies for the storage of material. As long as you've identified the oil as an apect and it's not significant and you can show that the storage is in accordance with regulatory requirements its no big deal.
