Hi all

under ISO 17025, is there any requirements to maintain enviromental conditions to certain temperature and humidity?

or we could maintain within a certain range and keep a record of it will do?

for incoming items, do we have to condition for certain days before we are allow to start calibrating it?

Thanks

It depends on what you calibrate. Conditions shall be assessed based upon requirement and accredited measures for which the service is provided.

Re: Enviromental Conditions for in-house calbration

I agree completely with previous reply. What I did was create a spreadsheet with all of my accredited standards, and entered their environmental limits there. I used that to determine where to set my lab limits. It is better to set your lab limits to a smaller range than your standards. Depending on what your scope of accreditation is/will be, you may need to make a table of temperature coefficients if applicable. You will also need gto monitor the environment and evaluate to make sure it will actually maintain your scope limits.

Another criteria (depending on your scope) may also be stability.

Hi guys ,

thanks for your reply.

if i wish to calibrate a Air thermometer which will be place inside an enclose chamber, and abient conditioning is not that critical since it is inside a chamber, i can set a higher limits for my lab?

Thank you

Higher limits respect to what???? Try to check with the equipment manufacturer that can provide the information you are required for.
The manufacturer knows the criticality and you as organization can evaluate the risks for this issue, because we do not know the environment you are working in as well as the spec of your process flow.
