ISO 19011:2002, Guidelines for quality and/or environmental management systems auditing has been published by ISO.
The announcement is made on 2002 October 2.

As far as I understand all the requirements are for the use of this standard.
The old standard ISO 10011 is dead.
The IATF rules for registration refer to ISO 19011 despite the fact that ISO9001, and TS 16949 still refer to ISO 10011.

Yes. We have been using this standard for auditing (internal) our ISO-14001 systems for quite sometime (from the beginning of 2003). I understand that this is a requirement (to use a standard for auditing) of IAF. Hence I had trained many internal auditors in our units (ISO-14001 certified) during Q-1 2003 to enable them to implement the standard.

I think you are probably aware most formal auditor training borrows heavily form this guidance doc. Further, TS, and some customer CSRs require applying the guidelines.

Some standards still mention ISO 10011, but there is no contradiction between the two books. ISO 19011 is just newer and adds more meat.
