Paul, I support the views previously expressed.

I'm curious to know, though, what influence the views of the Covers can have at this stage. Don't you have a brief or common position that the UK delegation wants to achieve?

Anyway, good luck and let us know how it goes.

See if you can get them to agree to doing real work instead of going on a global tour and producing zilch like TC176 did:lol:
That's what I love - covering the same ground in multiple threads. :frust:

There is an opportunity to contribute here ....

BTW it is true I am here to represent the UK position (thanks, Tyker). I am more interested, however, in getting a good standard. :D

Latest news - we are tippy toeing around 17021 so as not to conflict with the DIS Pt. 2. We are spending a lot of time and effort on competence (surprise, surprise) and audit risk - there is a distinction between the risk of the audit not coming up with the right result (a bad audit) and risk based auditing - currently excluded form the document.

The standard is also expected to cover 4 types of audit (or methods) On site vs. off site and interactive (with people) or non-interactive - again your contributions :)notme:) gratefully received.

Paul

One section of the document that could use a little more work is Clause 6.8, Conducting Audit Follow-up in the areas of:

1) The need to limit the Scope and purpose of the follow-up to the original nonconformity.
2) Follow-up should focus on the records generated after the corrective action was implemented.
3) Guidelines related to course of action to be taken when nonconformity has not been corrected.

The list could go on but it has been my experience the standard spends a lot on how to performing an audit but results in 1st and 2nd party auditors being clue less on what is required when they are performing a follow-up audit to close nonconformities based on corrective actions taken.

I like the approach of the 4 types, but I don't think it goes far enough. There needs to be more distinction between 1st party, 2nd party, and 3rd party.

There should also be more distinction between highly technical and non technical companies as well as more distinction between large and small companies.

Thanks for asking for our input.

Randy, you would make an excellent contributing member! :whip:

They'd stroke out if they ever got confronted by someone like me

Now Randy, I know you are unique :D. That doesn't mean there aren't people like you around!

Again there are plenty of us who give an honest opinion. The only trouble you might have is with following the programme of work - or the thread as it is sometimes known! :lmao:
