Every audit the subject of Oasis comes up. If a (potential new) registrar can't access that information on their own, I wouldn't let them in the door.

I would call that a "pre-qualification excercise."

Is it common for those bidding on a contract award to ask to see a copy of your current ISO certification? I assume they would want to know with whom you are currently registrered with thus potentially using that information in the bidding proces.

I don't think our company should have to provide our registration for those bidding.

If you are shopping around for a new registrar and you have a current, valid, properly accredited certificate, it would behoove you to provide that information to the registrars bidding on your certification. Assuming they can transfer your certificate, in accordance with the IAF Mandatory Document # 2, you could save some money.

Otherwise, they would have to bid the certification as starting from scratch, with stage 1, stage 2, etc...

What is your concern to share the certificate with the potential incoming registrars?

What's with the Aerospace mentality with ISO 9001 lately?

OASIS is for AS9100 and its derivatives. There are no ISO 9001 only registered companies listed there.

I looked to see if I could add a disclaimer to my previous post but I am not figuring out how to do so.

I think I forgot how things were (for me) pre-AS9100.

Any advice for making this change and any typical pitfalls or challenges going from ISO to AS and changing registrars?

Changing registrars should be a somewhat seamless process, if ANAB accredited. There are potentially a laundry list of things to consider, but it boils down - in the end - to some simple issues. The process would be to transfer your ISO certificate and then perform the upgrade at the next scheduled visit, if that is at a time which works for you.

A "no visit" transfer can be done for ISO 9001, if your system is in good shape. The upgrade will be additional time to cover the AS requirements. Your selected CB will take care of that for you.

Your choice of CB is critical, of course. What do you use to select suppliers now? Lowest price? All have to be accredited so that's not a differentiator.

First of all, you need to make sure the AS registrar is listed in the OASIS database.

According to AS9104/1, irrespective of the fact that you might have ISO 9001 certification, the AS registrar will have to perform a full (stage 1 and stage 2) audit of your system and use the audit time specified in Table 2 of the AS9104/1 document.

Also, is there any significance over a CB under ANAB versus ANSI or IAS? I realize they are all accredited under IAF.

The stage 1 and 2 audits are off on the horizon for know although I'm already nervous. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It should be a worthwhile endeavor.
