Would it be feasible to create a form for the customers to fill out and accompany their PO, so that the customers are prompted to think about and provide all needed information? If not, could this form be given to your sales people so that they can fill it out on behalf of the customer (and ask the customer for any missing information not on the PO), as a means to ensure capturing all the customer requirements?
I don't think either is feasible at this time with current staffing without creating a log jam in the process. Most of the customers are getting what they need right now. What I am trying to prevent is one of the customers adding a requirement or specification to a product because one of their competitors added it to their product and it getting produced and shipped without anyone at the manufacturing plant knowing about the new requirement
