ISO 9001 at Subcontractor end

What are the elements that can be waived for our subcontractors, who plan to comply with ISO9000 because QS9000 requires our subcontractors to be certified to ISO9001.This is without affecting our QS9000 certification.

Who do you mean can waive, the ISO certification board cannot waive anything,
You do not have to have a complete PPAP for example, fepending on your customer.
Please explain more.

I will assume that the referenced document is actually the QS spec not the ISO 9001:2000 standard. If not I'm in deep doo-doo because my copy doesn't have anywhere near 112 pages! :D

I believe Andrews was asking what clauses of the ISO 9001:2000 an organization can be excluded from and still receive certification, I will answer based on that summation:

Product Realization (clause 7) is the ONLY section of the ISO standard that an organization may state exclusions to, provided they can be justified to the registrar.

If I have missunderstood and fouled up the response, please let me know (kindly) and provide a bit more information so a more accurate response can be made.
