ISO 9001 Certification for laboratory but not the testing

I say this advert in the yahoo adverts
Microanalysis by ISO 9001 Lab...

and was interested to see what this was as what connection has the lab to
ISO 9001

I went to the site and saw that the scope of the certificate. I have nothing against the company but it seems to me that there is a catch here

Caveat emptor

Based on the scope, this lab has its QMS registered, but is not accredited. It states in the cert that it does R&D and similar work, so for that maybe OK.....if you need evidence that someone has assessed a laboratory to assure that they know what they are doing, then you need accreditation.

They claim to be a CRB.

They are not listed in the OASIS Database, either is any of the companies they list as registered on their website.

Good Catch, it really does appear that their certificate is not worth the paper it is printed on.
