I just spoke to Christel Whetston at Paton Professional. She can ship the book worldwide via Priority Mail International - Flat Rate Envelope for $11.36. Christel said the only hitch was that she wasn't able to track packages this way.

Because I hold a new job position which is mostly related with the implementation of ISO 9001 , I’ve been reading a lot of stuff on Cove and internet in the last 2 months.This fragment from your book is the best ISO 9001 interpretation what I have read until now and one of the most useful for me . Hi Coury,

Please clarify that the Registrar would be accredited to offer certification to AS9100 for their customers (moreso for readers who are new to Quality / Certification / Accreditation).

As for the publishers thought, I can see their point, and I may not agree with their thought. For example: I like to use a specific Registrar to perform Registrations for the Company's that I worked for. I suggested to the President of the Registrar, that they consider getting accreditation to AS9100 (this was over four years ago). Just recently (last month), I talked with the President of the Registrar (who also I consider a friend from a Business and somewhat personal)...and guess what... their client base was asking if they could register their company to AS9100, but since they weren't accredited, they had to say no at that time. The Registrar is now going through the accreditation process for AS9100.

Added for clarification: The thought of the President was that there is no demand at this time to seek out accreditation to AS9100.

This is just an true example of why sometimes I don't agree with Publishers (Service companies). They are looking at the initial impact and your needs, but seem to lack the foresight on what is currently going on.

Hi Craig,

Glad to see that you are still active in writing and publishing :yes:

After a quick read of the excerpt from your book, I'd say it's "very good" (and voted that way).

Since you have always provided "extras" via email (e.g., electronic tools), can we expect a summary of changes to your book based on the "new" version of ISO 9001 (when it's finally published)?

After reading the PDF on this thread, I ordered a copy. I got it last Friday and have been reading it this week. The rest of the book reads as well as the preview. Well done Craig.

Thanks for your gracious feedback. If you look at message #34 in this thread, you'll see a summary of changes that are expected to be incorporated in the 2008 Amendment. The stated aims of ISO Technical Committee 176 with the 2008 Amendment were the following:
  • No increased or reduced requirements
  • No change in the intent of requirements
  • No impact on most users
  • No need for additional training or education of users
  • Only need for minimal or marginal changes to an organization's documentation (if at all)
So, given these facts, there won't be any needs to change the book at all. I included all the changes that I knew of within the original text, so it will be accurate and useful until the next cycle of revisions.
