Que bom ver um brasileiro em tão renomada posição na iso. Estou terminando o mba mês que vem..fiz curso auditor lider em 2004 com o telmo azambuja e com o rebelo. O marcello couto da hgh(rj) é professor nosso aqui do mba. Fiz pós pela university of cambridge em inglês na cultura inglesa em 1992 mas vamos iniciar nosso contato na nossa língua..acho que vc aí deve ter saudade!! Trabalhei 22 anos em rádio e a pirataria aqui acabou com o $$$ ...salários ficaram muito baixos..saí em 2001 e entrei para a qualidade. Fiz estágio em ny na wbls e kiss (wrks) em 1994 e 1995..adoraria viver em ny , mas com filho pequeno (9 anos agora) preferi ficar!!gostaríamos de saber como poderíamos ter acesso como instituição educacional a wd,dis e fdis e normas restrita para estudos e trabalhos. Essa 10014:2006 seria interessante para convencermos os empresários que nos questionam ..how do i make money with quality?

If you can't wait to have a look, have a look now at ISO 9004:2000. It is a terrific document, and I assume the new version will contain much of the same excellent information.

I tell all my clients that the management and supervisor levels should take the time to read it. It really is an excellent document.

Do they honestly read the document?

I am currently dealing with a client with "too busy" mentality and cannot motivate them to do anything beyond minimum...::::::::

Some do, many do not. (It keeps me employed...). The ones who have a minimal approach do not.

One thing most do, I encourage them to work from the ISO 9004 book, not the 9001. Many do not even buy the 9001, just 9004. At least that way, they get exposed to it.

That´s normal...we should get double salary as we are - not only consultants to handle their QMS but also educators , teaching them how to run their business with the insight of the Quality models like ISO 9004...Good luck!!!

There appears to be a lot of confusion in using the terms CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and Sustainability. A few years ago CSR was related to social aspects of doing business, with more emphasis on philanthropy. Now a days I find that these two terms are more and more used synonymously. I can see this, for example, in the EFQM CSR Excellence document. How is this document (ISO-9004: 2009) going to be different from ISO: 26000 (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=8952&highlight=CSR) ?

Actually, in my opinion, Sustainability can be seen economically - which covers Environment, Social Responsibility and Resources..the three (among many) are essential for the sustainability of the world. 26000 will cover issues like SA 8000 and 9004:2009 will cover in a management perspective, how a company assure its sutainability.

The scope of ISO 9004 is totally different from ISO 26000. Even their respective definitions of the term sustainability differ (and naturally). The ISO 9004:2009 CD1 definition of sustainability is:

3.1 sustainability
<of an organization>
ability of an organization or activity to maintain or develop its performance in the long term.
Note 1: Sustainability emphasizes the need for a balance between the economic-financial interests of an organization and those of its social and ecological environment.
Note 2: Sustainability relates to both the direct and indirect stakeholders of an organization (such as shareholders, employees, customers, users, pressure groups and communities).​

The ISO 26000 WD3 definition of the same term is:

the feasibility of activities continuing without long-term adverse social, economic or environmental impacts that outweigh beneficial impacts​

However, there is ongoing infighting (amongst ISO TC's) about the usage of the word sustainability in standards. Check it out.
