Documented process - a document that describes the flow of how work gets done either in flow chart, text or a combination of both.

procedure or work instruction - this is how the work in xyz process gets done.

I believe there's a definition somewhere that states a procedure is a way to perform a process...

Actually, according to the ISO OBP, there are several definitions of the term procedure...

"Documented information" might be even worse than "documented procedure." Each of the current specifically mandatory six are requirements for certain types of processes to exist and be document. Furthermore, ISO 9001 "promotes" the process approach. What could be more apt than "documented process"?

While I don't disagree with your reasoning, according to the Working Draft (have not seen the CD yet), the term documented information goes beyond processes and might include things such as records and documents of external origin. The definition reads:

3.11 documented information
information required to be controlled and maintained by an organization and the medium on which it is contained

Note 1 to entry: Documented information can be in any format and media and from any source.

Note 2 to entry: Documented information can refer to
? the management system, including related processes;
? information created in order for the organization to operate (documentation);
? evidence of results achieved (records).

Hi,

thanks all already for the comments, but still no answer to my question.

In the ISO9001:2008 it was clearly defined what the mandatory six are. In the CD version of 3 june 2013, it isn't mentioned anymore or I skip it.

The article I read spoke about 9 mandatory for the CD. If someone can clarify me that, it wolud help me a lot.

Well, in all fairness, any new requirements would only be truly defined when the actual standard is published, but I (for one) would like to see this article so I could see this from your vantage point. Please provide a link in your next post.

He is probably referring to an article YYYYYYYY wrote. I don't allow links to his site here, so if that's the source it can't be linked to here. Not to mention I doubt anything is reliable until the CD version is leaked, and even then nothing will be definite.

The 40-day guy....hmmm....I just read one of his recent articles calling for a temporary halt of ISO 9001:2015 reviews. Didn't quite get his rationale....
