I got the new (E doc) from AIAG, and it has our company name on all pages to. This makes it impossible to pass on or copy.
Yep! Copyrighted documents (such as ISO/TS 16949:2009) can not be "passed on" to others. AIAG is protecting its property. ;)

Mine has my company name on it too, but look at the upside...who would steal such a document? :D

Don't forget to update your Quality Manuals! (or any other documents in your system that refer to ISO/TS 16949:2002 or ISO 9001:2000)

I ordered our copy from AIAG, price of $90.00. Hand walked the request to accounting and purchasing to get approval signatures. Purchasing manager issued Purchase Order. Then, AIAG said no can do, we don't accept purchase orders under $150.00. If under $150.00 must purchase via credit card. So, had to go back through senior management to one one with a company credit card, re-order and cancel written purchase order. How many other companies mandate a requirement, set a high price for little benefit, then dictate how you can buy it?
Stop complaining. You should be well aware by now that it is all just part of the racket. Oops, I mean highly value add system of defining standard requirements and monitoring adherance in a genuine effort of continual improvement.

That's right!

According to IATF CB Communiqué # 2008-006:
"Application of the clarifications related to ISO 9001:2008 requirements in the boxed text of ISO/TS 16949:2009 is effective not later than 120 days after the release of ISO/TS 16949:2009."

Release date of ISO/TS 16949:2009 according to IATF CB Communiqué #2009-010 is June 15th, 2009.

So, we have to work on update our QMS documents soon ;).

:agree1: Thanks for the reminder!!! :thanks:

In the company I’m currently working for, we do need to work to update some documents since sometimes they make reference to ISO-9001:2000 and/or ISO/TS16949:2002, as well as measuring devices instead of measuring equipments, those are only small wording changes, but still we need to make them.

Each organization has its own way to work, hasn’t it?

One of my auditors has already started asking about "the type and extent of control applied to outsourced processes" and where it is defined (ref 4.1) in our QMS. Labs are easy, but there can be a wide assortment of ousourced processes. Anyone have an idea of an easy way to generically address all potential outsourced processes in a QMS?

In earlier posts and different threads, I made a case for a simple process matrix (spread sheet) that shows all your processes that make up your quality management system. In this matrix, you can indicate which of the processes are "outsourced" and in what manner they are controlled by hyperlinking the explanation to them.

This seems like an "okay" place to post this question. I'll also post in the ISO 9001 forum, just in case.

I have had very nitpicky registrar auditors in the past...so bare with me. Or is it bear with me? ;)

Anyway, I'm revising our Quality Manual to match the changes made in TS16949:2009. In section 7.4.1.2 the standard reads "Unless otherwise specified by the customer, suppliers to the organization shall be third party, registered to ISO 9001:2008 by an accredited third-party certification body."

My research tells me that ISO 9001:2000 certificates are still valid up until November 2010. Some of my suppliers have ISO 9001:2000 certs that don't expire until 2011. One of them has stated that their last surveillence audit was to the 2008 standard, but ISO will not issue a new certificate until the current one expires in 2011.

Should I add a note to my Quality Manual that says ISO 9001:2000 will be acceptable until November 2010? And what do I do with the supplier described above?

Also, I can't resist: Can somebody tell me why this clause has been changed from "third party registered" to "third party, registered"? Does the new comma make sense to anyone?
