ISO/TS 16949 - Auditing supporting activities

Filip M.

Hi,

we have a remote location for a design function that was audited last year in october. Due the fact the site (plant) where the remote location is located will be audited in march this year. We would like to shift the audit for the remote location from october to march (cluster) but seems that isn't allowed (cf. our certification body) base on clause 5.1.1 of the IATF rules. In our opinion, that's correct for the on site surveillance audit but not for the supporting activities (remote location). In clause 5.5 (supporting activities = remote location) of the IATF rules stand ... audited at least once within a each consecutive twelve (12) month period... So no restriction when to plan (as defined in 5.1.1).
What's the correct approach ?
Thanks for a reply. Gr. Filip

You might be correct. As long as the design function is audited once every 12 months, and audited before the main audit, you should be ok...
