ISO9001 Process Organisation Diagram - Does this make sense to you?

I'd be grateful for comments on how well the logic of the attached diagrams work. I've started with the idea of the customer to customer chain being a specific viewpoint on the QMS so the diagram is similar to an IDEF0 one with controls and constraints going into the top and resources into the bottom of the chain.

A couple of observations--I think the third page--the actual process flowchart--should be able to stand alone. I find diagrams like the one on your first page confusing and mostly non-helpful. This is not your fault-- I think the problem lies in trying to get too much information on a single page, and also trying to convey information that might not need to be conveyed, and this type of diagram is endemic.

By contrast, the process flowchart is very nicely executed. The only thing I see, which is fairly minor, is that an apparent endless loop is created when submitting estimates to customers, and revising them if the estimate is rejected. There's probably a point at which you'll decide that you can't revise any further, and that's not accounted for.

It's evident you have put a lot of time and thought into this diagram. :applause:

One thing I did see missing was 4.2.3 Document Control.

Thanks Jim - good points made. I might ditch page one or put in in a process map bin, away from the mainstream quality documentation.

Agreed - I do need criteria to exit out of that feedback loop. I'll think on that.

Steve - thanks for your kind comments. Re the document control - I've left that out of the main customer to customer flow as I see this as a QMS maintenance task. I'll add a note in the text to make that clear.
