Issue with Audit Days - Surveillance audit

Along with all the other comments, I have one more. Time to look for a new registrar. They say they'll look into next year??? Wow!! :lmao: They must either not value your business or figure you'll accept anything they'll hit you with.

I can't imagine a reputable registrar not correcting the issue, prior to your visit and taking internal corrective action to investigate how this happened (root cause analysis, starting with your contract which you said states 2.5 mandays). If I were your company I'd definitely challenge the billing. Considering the recent numbers on ISO registration, I'm amazed the management doesn't seem more concerned. (As a fellow Registrar Auditor, I applaud your Auditor for including those comments in his/her report. Hopefully, he won't get in trouble for this with his/her management, which I've seen, unfortunately, when an Auditor goes "to bat" for the client).

I would tend to agree - except that up until recently this registrar has been great. The individual that was handling our file went back home (England) and another individual took over for him. The new individual does not give us the quick responses or what seem to be educated answers. I think it is a customer service issue on their end and we are going to get it fixed or you are right we will be looking for a different registrar. Thanks again. :bigwave:

In the FAQ of the IAOB web site is a detailed discussion on how to figure man-days; #3 - audit days calculation. It is the only method used by the registrar to figure man-days. The results from this method take precedence, regardless of what's in your proposal. The tables are only a guideline.
If this doesn't answer your question, then contact the IAOB for clarification.
I've already "been there and done that" and lost.

You may refer IAF Guidance document on Guide 62. There have guideline to determine auditor time. 47 empolyees it estimates to be 2 auditor days for surveillance except other factors like high risk industry.
