Hi all,

Due to the economic crisis we are facing today, our company is trying to save on traveling cost / reduce travelling oversea to supplier site for audit.

the company i work for is a TS 16949 certified company. and my bos i ask me to check on how we want to justify not to audit our oversea supplier due to the economic situation, we are looking for a proper way to answer the survellance audit auditor on the reason why we do not want to audit our supplier this year. is there a sort of a waiver or written approval we can do to justify that we will not audit our supplier this year?

all comments are appreciated.

best regards,
anatta

Are you talking about auditing non certified companies or ISO9001 certified companies.
There is no requirement to audit suppliers whom are certified to ISO9001 by a properly accredited CB.

This standard is not really my field but if you have or can implement an incoming QC process when you receive the goods then you should satisfy requirements.

most of our supplier is ISO certified and some are TS certified. Does it mean, if they are certified by an accredited CB we can assume they are equally performing well? Base on this justification not to audit them?

Well, that could be step one. Step two is to use their performance data (quality, delivery, etc.), something that you should do anyway.

I would supplement this along with the Incoming material data like dppm data.

Trend analysis data could be attached as justification to skip audits :)

You can't "assume" anything, but the data can tell you how they are performing. By the way, ISO 9001 does not require you to do onsite audits, especially if they are certified. That is just one technique available.
