Labeling Medical/Health Value Claims with No Sources to Back Up

S

Marketing wants to add tables displaying values of medical "measurements" to use as a comparison of our devices functions.
I have said the tables need to have sources (examples: blood pressure range 80-120 is normal; blood glucose 4.5 - 5.5 is normal; etc.).
This information MUST be supported by citing the source!

But where can this requirement be found? Standard , guidance, directive?
I need a basis to have this corrected.

The term Normal depends upon region / country., Age., Sex., and more over changes keep happening and the band my narrow or increase.
If I were you, I would oppose to such a move.

Sometimes these (what you call normal) are built into the device and based on read value, flash of a symbol or alarm tone suggests need to take further control on the out of normal reading.
