LCD Pixel Flaws - ISO 9241-302,303,305 or 307?

Hello all, and thanks again for your help.

I've been tasked with bringing some of our internal documentation regarding allowable pixel flaw types and counts in our LCD assemblies in line with industry standards.

Wikipedia tells me that such matters used to be addressed by ISO 13-406-2 and gives me some data, history and philosophy, but states that the " standard has been withdrawn and revised by the ISO 9241-302, 303, 305 and 307:2008 standards ".

Wikipedia also summarizes the data, history and philosophy I need in a different page regarding the 9241 standard, but does not spell out which of the 302/303/305/307 standards the data comes from.

I could spend a couple of hundred dollars on the exact standard that I wish to reference, but I'm loath to purchase all four to find out which one I need, since most of what they cover does not apply to my issue. And their titles and summaries are vague at best for my purposes.

Do any of you know which of the four standards contains the data referenced in the Wikipedia page regarding pixel flaw type and allowable counts? [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_9241 ]

I guess my fallback position could be to trust in the accuracy of Wikipedia's summary and reference the set of four standards without ever having seen them, but I can think of ways that could go wrong :mg:

Thanks again -

Norman

Okay, I think I've answered my own question. I had to refine my search criteria. I gave up searching for the information to answer my question and switched to searching for other people ranting about LCDs with pixel problems and/or manufacturers bragging about their product.

It appears that the document referenced by both ranters and manufacturers is ISO 9241 307, and the industry standard would appear to be Class II. If anybody has knowledge to the contrary please let me know.

Thanks
Norman

Thanks for letting us know what you found. This is very niche so I don't know if there will be follow-on posts, but hopefully there will be.
