Lean: Conducting Capacity Study, calculating Cycle times on laser cutting machines

I am looking at conducting a Time study on a laser cutting machine.
Objective of this study on this machine is to
know the cycle times and current capacity of laser machine
Open capacity of the same laser
Challenge:
Different parts nested on the same sheet of metal
different sizes of parts made in the same nesting
No manual way to capture data previously.

Any templates used before for this purpose on a laser?
Any good material or study to reference?
 
Much would depend on the mix of product as well as nesting. Trimming large sheets is quick and easy, but numerous small parts can take much time. Also depends on the base metal being used. We had to buy laser film metals especially for the laser, and some materials could not be cut, (copper and aluminum or mirrored finishes). Secondary feed tray setup is also important to continue work without interruption.

Thank you sir for your response and time.
I completely understand the complexity, that is exactly why I am seeing if someone had been able to calculate the capacity of a laser that cuts mixed parts of different sizes on different thicknesses. To add to it, as the machine get old you might have to include the planned and unplanned maintenance and breakdown time.
