Linking control chart with control plan

Once you decide you need to monitor a dimension or process parameter which might change gradually over time, a control chart is one way to monitor process behavior over time. Once you decide, you might document the decision on a control plan. The control chart itself does not control the dimension, but by monitoring trends, you hope to see and react to early signs that the process has drifted over time. Your control plan includes a reaction plan to take action once the control chart shows a signal the process is "out-of-control".

Thank you John.

Exact example is that we control parts (every part) on material defects by the reference material defects official norm from customer, how to track this via control chart?

Thank you
