Check out the available files from the Institute of Management Accountants. You need to register (it is free) in order to download their Statements of Management Accounting, but they have a file (it is over 25megs or I would have uploaded it here) titled, "Accounting for the Lean Enterprise: Major Changes to the Accounting Paradigm".
As always, use the advanced search feature on Google filtering for file types of "PDF" and "PPT" format.
Another resource would be the Lean Enterprise Institute. Under Community-->Archives-->Articles-->Lean Accounting; you will find additional sources of information.
Yes, I would consider Maskell one of THE leading authorities. There will be a new group of experts in the next 2-3 years, but the pioneers are Maskell, Fiume, Cunningham, and Mark DeLuzio of Lean Horizons. I know for a fact that Jean Cunningham is an independent consultant if you are looking for serious action.
ALSO, here's a link to an article written by these and other lean accounting practioners. It came out of the first Lean Accounting Summit and serves to provide a common understanding of the principles and practices. http://www.leanaccountingsummit.com/LeanAccountingDefined-Target.pdf
