Looking for reputable AS9100D Registrars

Companies I am involved with are obtaining contracts in the aerospace and DoD arenas where business contracts are requiring AS9100 certification and have appointed me to begin the certification process. With that said, my main area of work is with high-risk medical devices, and I have dealt with a range of NB's and Registrar's in that industry. Given this I can appreciate the importance of selecting the correct registrar. The main factors I look for are a responsive account manager, a rotation of good auditors, and the capacity to audit my companies in a timely manner. I would appreciate insight into the world of AS9100D registrars and any industry news that would affect which registrar to select.

Certification Bodies (CBs) need accreditation to issue valid certifications. ANAB operates in North America, and provides a list of CBs in good standing are available here. The prices for top registrars are higher, but I still recommend them. A sample include (links are on the page I sent you to)

DQS, Inc.
DNV
NQA
TUV

I suggest you contact the sales team of each and make decisions from there.

Jen gave a good list. Stick with one of them. Avoid Perry Johnson, in my opinion.

There is some news one can point to. Accrediting Bodies (ABs) list Registrars in current status as well as suspended. ANAB has a searchable database. There are old stories about specific registrars that I won't go into here; just use the AB databases to find current status.

For the stated purpose, it would be better to access the OASIS database that is specific to the ASD industry. When I was involved with the AAQG & IAQG, I used to start and populate lots of threads here concerning this issue. The OP should consider attending some of the open AAQG meetings.
