Wow, thanks a lot for your help. I would take note of that for my next training session. 
I like to have them notify department supervisors, process owners & managers about any training or things of such. This will give you more "legs" from the gate & also ensure ego's aren't stepped on or prevent misconceptions.
Usually you'll end up conducting the actual training, which is probably for the best if your primarily focused on QMS related matters. But up to the point of your presentation to staff, I would recommend you have them involved every step of the way.
