First - Great site

Second - Is there any requirement for a substitute management representative per the ISO standard? I am in the process of adding the finishing touches to our new quality manual and someone mentioned identifying a backup rep in the manual. Is this a requirement or even a good practice?

Thanks in advance.

Many folks identify by title, not by individual name. In the event an individual "relocates," there is no need to revise the documents.

A good phrase to keep in mind is
"[job title] or any person so designated by the CEO"

Obviously, the less detailed the list of responsible parties, the more leeway and flexibility the CEO has in selecting someone for the task, even on an ad hoc basis, including outside contractors.

Right - I will only be using the title for the identification of the representative. Great advice and thanks for your time.
