Management Review - Changes that could affect the quality system

Hello everybody,

Just a question for you guys...I reviewed our procedure concerning Management Review and we don't really have to change anything, but about two little thing I still had a question...

In 5.6.2 input of management review, ISO states that also changes that could affect the quality system should be taken to in account during the management review. Just a simple question who doesn't do this?...isn't it obvious that you have to look if there are changes that have an impact on your business and QMS?

We annualy review our QMS and in this review we already take in to account the changes made to the QMS in the past year and the changes to be made in the QMS..

And another question in 5.6.3 (output MR) ISO states something about actions have to exist from need for resources..
the same question here...if a improvement is undertaken isn't the resources needed always given (ofcourse if it's necessary)...why should this be recorded? If the person that's in charge of the improvement needs the resources then he should get it, otherwise no improvement is made...

First of all, you would be surprised at what some people try to pass off as Management Review. Things such as daily ad hoc meetings or emails.

In regards to your second question, the standard states (paraphrased) that "the output shall include decisions related to resource needs."

The same companies that try to avoid meaningful Management Reviews of their Quality Management System will "skirt" Management Commitment 5.1 (e) ensuring the availability of resources. You'll often hear, "we don't have the time, money or resources for that, just apply a quick fix for now".
