It is like pulling teeth when a new ECN comes out with new blueprints. Whether it is brand new parts with new BOM's or whether it is just a rev letter change nothing runs smoothly.
Our current system blows. I hope I can say that, because Im not one to mince my words when I feel strongly!
So what we do now is this: New prints--get a PDF file and are put into a folder. We have an Access database that lists all the topline parts with a button to click to view that print and another button to view the Bill Of Material and from there you can click on all the secondary part prints as well as get a printout of the BOM. Well this database is OLD OLD OLD. You have to have Adobe 5 or lower open before you can view any of the prints.
Does anyone have anything better?
Also we have talked about something easier for our ECN process. We are a multi-site facility and to get signatures from each site and mailing back and forth is getting rediculous.
thanks so much
