I would appreciate any input on a master level, good brand and model for my master. Should I use a 24", torpedo sized, or other? Thanks for any advice.

What is the application? If you're going to be in a machine shop or cal lab with a good surface plate(s), then a Starrett m.199 Master Precision Level would be a good choice. 0.0005 in./ft. per division (resolution) (about 8 arc sec.), About 15.5 " long.
