Measuring a Golf Club Face/Grip/Shaft Rotation

is there any small device that could measure club face/grip/shaft rotation of the golfclub? needs to be able to measure at high speed

This is fairly complex measurement at a high speed. You will probably need non-contact laser measurement.

I have no idea what the current technology is, but you are undoubtedly correct.

Back in the "old days" for a while I was involved with "air restraint systems" we had a camera that took something wicked like 2000 frames per second but in those days all measurements were "1-D" vs. time.

I don’t have an answer, however I am interested and did use high speed imaging for problem solving high speed process errors in a previous employment.
I understand that you are not going to get very far without a reliable datum’s and reliable measurement systems.

It might help to understand what aspects you were trying to quantify. Shaft rotation is probably the easiest to understand as it would be represented as a +/- angle of rotation from a zero point, however what measurement aspects of the “club face” and “grip” were you looking to understand? For example, grip height at point of impact? Horizontal and vertical angle (orientation) of the face at point of impact with the ball? Etc.

With a little more information, you may find some covers will be able to throw some ideas your way.

i want to measure shaft/clubface velocity rotation, to experiment what grip and what kind of swing gives me the least clubface rotation through impact :)

I don't have a specific device, but I have had several demo's from Keyence regarding different measurement devices such as hand held probe CMM. Keyence may have something that can do what you are looking for.

Note, I have no affiliation with them other than buying an optical super micrometer.
