A colleague (who is a sometime poster here) and I were discussing methods for measuring luminescence of certain UV coatings on labels.
We both work for printing companies and are collaborating on finding a way to measure this and find a standard to measure to.
Our customers use sensors that detect luminescence to, for example, confirm if a bottle on the filling line has a label. The varnish that we apply to these lables enhances the luminesence.
Right now we both have essentially the same UV light box that was home made to detect luminesence but we are looking for a current scale by which to rate it. The scale my company has is no longer made so we protect it and keep it covered.
But what I'm looking for is something to replace this scale so we can get a new one on regular intervals, like our Pantone books.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks
