This goes back to everyone's "favorite" subject of Section 5.9 of the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. Our Chemical Testing lab was successful in obtaining accreditation last year and now our organization is looking to add-on our Mechanical Testing Lab. There are no PT programs currently available for the Chem Lab so we are relying on QC data to fulfill 5.9.
What is the best practice for the Mechanical Lab? They perform various dimensional measurements on packaging components and labels. Is it feasible to have a "Lab Control Sample" (LCS) with which to accumulate QC data (such as our Chem Lab is doing) or would PT alone be sufficient to meet 5.9 requirements? If QC data is required, what is the best design for that program?
We know how to meet the other requirements of the standard for the Mechanical Lab, just unsure about this one.
Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks to everyone at the Cove - you're all great!!! It's wonderful to have a resource like this to bounce questions/ideas off of.
