Medical device license

Hi there,

We want to discontinue our medical device license due to the poor sales in Canada, the device does not have any technical and safety problem.

Once the license is cancelled, does the regulation require us to recall the non-selling goods kept in the distributor's stores?

Thanks

If you cancel your Health Canada medical device licence for business reasons (e.g., poor sales) and there are no safety or technical concerns, the regulations do not require you to recall products already placed with distributors. Recalls are only necessary if there is a health or safety issue; otherwise, remaining inventory can generally be sold through, but no new imports or sales into Canada can occur after the licence is cancelled.
