Please give your advice on the next.
I have a manufacturing business with 4 production lines.
Also have 1 site, 1 shift , 50 people.
I have about 10 clients.
Lines are producing at almost the 100%, sometimes, rarely, we have up and downs.
But now I need to have a more precise control about my production lines, because some clients are requiring me to say what rate of products I may compromise with them and also timeframe for the production.
Immediatelly came to mind to open a second shift or another site with more machines and people, that will increase my production rate, but I want to have real information about what my capacity is, and what I have to do to increase it by using solid and reliable background information, not just spend money opening new lines, that for sure , part will be wasted money.
Maybe I need to study my spare times in machines (gaps) where they are not producing, maybe late starting of work orders, maybe efficiency of personal and machines, on said issues, if solved, I could have spaces to place work orders.
I wonder if someone could recommend me practices, books, software
in order to address this matter.
