Back to my usual soapbox...after the compliance question is handled, it's about the money.
Kales mentions (and I agree) that gage blocks are faster and easier. Can this be monetized? How much labor would you save by using gage blocks, and how much do the gage blocks cost?
Then factor in the increased accuracy (assumed since I don't know your acceptance criteria) and monetize the potential risk of using the 'questionable' accuracy of calibration by CMM.
Does the bottom line $ say stay with the CMM, or switch to gage blocks?
Data proves points much more easily than passion. And identifying a money waste or risk is typically compelling data.
