Microsoft OneNote - Is anyone using Microsoft OneNote

Is anyone using this and if so, what do you think of it?

I am looking for something that will allow my boss and I to collaborate. His is in a different location. The company doesn't want to do Sharepoint or set up network interface which would allow him to look at my server or me at his server.

was wondering if this might be an option. currently sending email back and forth.

I'm pretty familiar with collaboration software. Selection of what to use depends on following factors:

1. number of collaborators
2. frequency of contact
3. nature of collaboration material (conversation, text, drawings, photos, etc.) and whether participants will be marking up changes on document overlays for final consolidation and subsequent approval by designated parties.
4. Budget (for initial purchase and maintenance, as well as of time and cost to train collaborators to use the software efficiently and correctly)

Got answers for those factors? It just may be that email is sufficient or possibly "live chat," both of which are free and easy to implement, especially if all you do is pass comments back and forth.

You might also think about Voice Over Internet Protocol or relatively simple video conferencing.

company is opposed to live chats. we have video conferancing available if more than an email or phone call is needed.

Are you each marking up the documents (text, drawings, or mixture?) with changes or suggested changes? If yes, even MS Word has an audit trail function for primarily text documents. I don't see an urgency which might require special software to allow each of you to "look over the other's shoulder" in real time.

Is Microsoft Groove any good to you. It a shows who last edited the document etc.

Its as simple as your going to get you open a workspace and invite who you want to use it by email.
Drag and drop the files you want to add and there will be a copy saved online for you, and your bos can view and edit it or vice versa.

I recommend Microsoft Live Office Workspace. It's free and easy to share and edit documents online. You can find out more about it by Googling Microsoft Office Live.

I have used it many times to complete work at home.
