Wes,
You make great points based on your experience and current understanding of PC Mind mapping.
Take a look at all of the maps that I and others have posted in a Mind mapped format, choose any or all and, I can send them to a recipient as an Image, Word doc or Powerpoint presentation.
As I said previously, "PC Mind mapping is a different animal altogether".
Not for everyone yet, you just don't know what you don't know and, for those who dare to investigate and try it for themselves, they shall indeed see a new and other possibility for information creation, management and sharing.
I initially experienced Mind mapping as an amusing toy but, I came to understand the power of this amusing toy when, I arrived at the "AHA" moment and realized the power of this amazing set of tools and techniques for personal and business productivity enhancement.
Linear information structures aren't ever going away, they are invaluable to almost everyone on the planet. My enthusiasm for Mind mapping comes from the fact that the tools and techniques offered, especially by PC programs, allow users to be more creative in their information management structures. I can basicaly scatter all of my personal or business thought processes all over the PC screen, drag and drop them into a logical arrangement and, present them in a format that suits my recipients. Yeah, it's great for brainstorming and decision making yet, that's only the tip of the iceberg.
Wallace.
