A search in google for "poka yoke ppt" gives many presentations. However something specific of your interested area, you must be able to detail the situation for many people to share pokayoke ideas from their vast experiences.

Thanks for your reply.
I find most Poka yoke ppts addressing Manufacturing Mistakes & it becomes a totally technical, mainly because Poka yoke stemmed out of Mfg situation.

When conducting this training for Office / Services e.g. People from Cust Services / Sales, they get an impression that PY has limited application (to mfg only) it is mainly 'Check list' is only & commonly used approach for them.

So I wanted to collect some examples from this area & I am sure with huge Exp & Knowledge bank here, members will share their experiences.

Thanks for your reply. I find most of ppts on Poka yoke is addressing examples from manufacturing since it stemmed from Mfg & has found vide use & success in Mfg.

If the same is used for training Office employees say from Sales / Cust Support, they tend to think that PY is mainly for Mfg & only a technical subject with limited use for them. (Only Checklist is applicagle to them & has a serious limitation of human adherence)

So I wanted to get some examples from this sector for easy understanding by them.
I am sure due to vast Knowledge & Exp background here members will contribute exmples to help me.

error proofing can be preventive or detective in nature. Preventive means the design prevents the problem from happening, detective means identify the problem as when happend so correction v=can be taken.

the way to go.... is to make a flow chart nd ask at each stage what can go wrong . then ask what can i do to prevent from happening is a form I use, or a checklist or is it something i need to say.

its better that the design makes sure that problem does not happen ir preventive .

eg if the telephoine numbers are being recorded of all customers vsiiting the office and the person recording does not write down all digits, a form which gives the required numberf of cells for recording nos can be used.
