MSA annual plan

Hello
As far i know there is no standard requirements for haringa annual MSA plan for exsisting equiopment, MSA needs to be performed before PPAP and if any changes occured during serial usage, or there is at VDA5 or AIAG MSA requirement?

My customers does not require it, and in my company for last 20 years we have yearly plan which I will cancel if i m in right..

There is no logical reason for an annual MSA program. MSA is intended to assess and ‘qualify’ the measurement system as being repeatable and reproducible and appropriate (and stable and bias free and accurate and…). Gauge R&R is a subset of MSA.

The only time I have required repeated MSA is when the system is very appraiser dependent (sample prep, visual assessment, etc.) I have used it in a manner similar to calibration. New appraisers are ‘qualified‘ and all appraisers go through an annual - or more frequent - assessment.

If we are talking about IATF 16949 the PPAP requirement is irrelevant the standard states

7.1.5.1.1 Measurement systems analysis
Statistical studies shall be conducted to analyse the variation present in the results of each type of
inspection, measurement, and test equipment system identified in the control plan. The analytical
methods and acceptance criteria used shall conform to those in reference manuals on
measurement systems analysis. Other analytical methods and acceptance criteria may be used if
approved by the customer.

There is no requirement for annual requalification but it is a very useful way of verifying the capability of inspectors especially those of visual inspection
Look at it as a training competency requirement rather than any thing else
