MSA Gage R&R - Destructive Test with One Sided Specification and One Operator

Hi To All,

I've read several great postings especially Intro To MSA of Continuous Data, yet I do not find an answer to my dilemma;

I previously posted a open question regarding this process;

I am conducting the following test/inspection at the beginning and middle of each day or batch:
20AWG wire/terminal crimped connection, using a digital force gauge to assess the acceptability of the crimped connection. This is a destructive test, with a one sided spec (test result>13 lbs), and one operator.

I have yet to locate a suitable method to conduct such a test or analysis. Using Minitab's Gage R&R Nested design allows use of one-sided spec, yet how do I accommodate one operator? And how does one replicate wire/contact specimens that are destroyed?

Given this scenario, the reproducibility would seem to of no value...

Thank you for your assistance.

Regards,
Marty

Good Day Miner,

Thank you for the input....unfortunately the link in comment #4 appears to be broken. I'll try again later. During the interim, do you know of another method to obtain this info?

I've read your great blog. yet none of these work arounds appears to be suitable. What am I missing....the tensile test destroys the specimen, and homogeneity of samples is anything but assured.

  • Split specimens

  • Consecutive specimens

  • Regression approach

  • Stabilized parts
Thank you again for your assistance.

Regards,
Marty

Hi Miner,

This is a great resource....your blog is great. Yet I do not have financial resources or time to secure known value springs or similar loads. I will certainly keep this in mind for future application.

Thank you again for your assistance....
