Hi,
I liked the last post. Our customer is Ford and we have presented for approval to our STA/SQE the following:
-GR&R for each critical characteristic, no matter if we measure several dimensions with same instrument. For example, we have one CMM that we use to check 10 dimensions, so we perform 10 GR&R studies.
-Full MSA study (linearity, bias, stability,gr&r) for each instrument stated in CP. For example: One CMM to check 10 dimensions, one vernier to check 3 dimensions, one thickness meter to check 1 dimension, one go/nogo to check 4 dimensions; totally we perform 3 full MSA because go/nogo gage does not apply for linearity/bias/stability (at least as far as I know).
We present this within our PPAP documentation and also for ISO/TS recertification and we have been receiving green light each time.
One last thing. If for some reason we start to use another vernier to check a fourth dimension, we still don't perform full MSA for that new vernier because we have one for the other.
Let me know what you think about our process.
Thank you.
