Dear Elsmar Forum Users,
I have a lot of questions from my collegues regarding "what do you mean by measurement system" and sometimes I have difficulty to answer.
Maybe I present an example: if we have 3 operators on one assy line and they measure 3 different diameteres (with different nominals and tolerances) using one caliper. Do you think that is one measurement system? I suppose that for such measurments performed on other assy line (different operators) another measurement system analysis should be performed. Am I right?
To conduct MSA only for gage and calculate Cgk I need to have master sample with characteristic is near nominal or in the middle of tolerance range. What to do if I have part with 30 characteristics and I have to perform MSA study. Does it mean that I need to have 30 master samples? It is very dificult to have one master sample where all characteristics are near nomial or in the middle of tolerance range.
Thanks for your your support and clarification.
Peter
