Hi, working in manufacturing medical device class 2 products, most new processes are automated, but the site does not have vast experience in automation. Currently, the MTBF (failure - faults) in our automation equipment has been around 2 minutes, which is a lot of faults that will take from a second to an hour to repair (although is somewhat similar to MTTR is around 2.5 min).
I am looking for feedback and comments on what is the industry average for MTBF for automated manufacturing equipment. Similar to OEE is expected to be around 85% as a global best-in-class.
