Couldn't we ask the big global CB's there numbers? Any ideas how we could arrange this? Who has the contacts?
Don't waste your time. There is nothing in for the CB's to volunteer that information.
Which CB's have ASR in place? As far as I am informed it requires in effect a specific extension of accreditation. Is this right?
Yes, CB's have to be specifically accredited for ASRP. Under ANAB, for example, there are only 6 CB's approved for ASRP/ISO 9001 and 2 for ASRP/ISO 14001, what demonstrates that the interest in ASRP is surprisingly low.

Thnx Sidney for your comment on ASRP.
Pls also your comment on
When large, multi-site organizations, indeed tend to move to multi-site certification, why is there not to much info to find on this (training's, best practices, papers....)? In my experience CB's have different interpretations on multi-site certification. They do central function audits in rather different ways, focused on their own interpretations of MD1. CB's audit single-site 9001, 14001 and/or OHSA/45001 in a much more standardized way.

There is not much information publicly available because the arrangements are customized for each and every audit/certification program between the registrant and the registrar. It is very easy to understand that, isn't it? If not, would you feel comfortable sharing all the intimate and detailed arrangements between your organization and the registrar here, for everyone to opine?

Hello !

Because we shall not confuse the "certification" of an MS and the "MS" itself, this discussion needs to distinguish two levels. The first is naturally the structuration of a single MS by the top management in multi-site companies (by definition it should be "automatically" the case regarding ISO MS models!). The second is therefore at level of the auditors of such MS (for their certification, or internally).

Isn't it ?

Cordially.

Question - when you have your organization certified according to MD1, having a centralized management review, must your sites conduct a local MR?
Nope not as such, but at least they need to be able to demonstrate what they contribute to the headquarters CENTRAL FUNCTION relevant to the requirements they're responsible for meeting.... And the headquarters CENTRAL FUNCTION needs to be able to show how the locations contribute to the whole.

The headquarters CENTRAL FUNCTION location must specify what portion of the MS each location is responsible for and what the reporting requirements are. Under MD-1 up to 20% of the audit duration at each location can be reduced when this is all done as part of a multi-site........Additional reduction of duration can also be assigned when MS are integrated IAW IAF MD-11.

One catch for multi sites is that all locations must be assigned the same risk level which could negate a portion if not all reductions. Risk has to be assigned as the highest determined so if there are 6 locations that are medium, 2 that are low and 1 that is high, they all must be factored as high.

In an integrated system the risks are unique for each standard so you can have 2, 3 or even 4 different risks and durations that get added together before factoring the total integrated reduction (up to 20%) so let's say we've determined 2 days (Q), 1.5 days (E) & 2 days (S) we get 2+1.5+2 = 5.5 days duration and the integrated factor is 20% (factor 0.8) we come up with 5.5 x 0.8 = 4.4 days ( round up to 4.5 day integrated audit) MD5 required audit days to be to the nearest 1/2 (0.5) day.

Thnx Randy. But why HQ and not central function? And based on what is the catch that all locations must be assigned the same risk level?
You say poe-tay-toe I say poe-tah-toe.....They both still make french fries. I revised it because it's so easily confused, besides ISO 17021 uses the word headquarters instead of Central Location
